Dance Classes For All Ages

Find your feet at Susan Shiner Dance Academy! We offer friendly, family-oriented dance classes for children of all ages, from preschool upwards. With over 45 years of experience, we can help you develop a strong dance foundation in a happy, fun-filled environment.

Our modern, purpose-built facilities provide an open environment with ample room to practise your moves. They also enable our staff to work freely ensuring you gain the most from each lesson. We also run Yoga and adult fitness classes which are an enjoyable, alternative way to exercise and keep fit. All students are included in our annual production Cavalcade of Dance at the Civic Theatre Newcastle. Costumes are available for hire from the studio.

Dance Styles

Our academy offers professional lessons in a range of dance styles including Classical, Tap, Jazz, Contemporary and Cheerleading. All teaching staff are experienced and highly qualified dancers. We provide lessons for all stages from beginner to advanced and to suit dancers looking for a fun way to exercise, as well as those hoping to make it to the big stage. A boys-only class, with a male teacher, offers street style dance including breakdance and is a great way to burn energy and let off some steam. We also offer acrobatic dance lessons which combine classical ballet with acrobatic moves and are a great way to build strength.
